This is a 53 year old female who came to Rao Plastic and Hand Surgery to discuss an abdominoplasty and liposuction. She was looking to improve the appearance of her back and abdomen. She was unhappy with the fullness and contour of her abdomen, back, and flanks as well as the excess skin of her stomach area. She was done having children. After discussing the options with her, I felt that she would be a good candidate for liposuction of her back and flanks with an abdominoplasty, which would successfully achieve her aesthetic goals. We also discussed in her initial consultation that she did not have prior surgery, any hernias, and was not pregnant, so we continued on to schedule her for surgery. I performed liposuction to abdomen, back, and flanks, and continued with an abdominoplasty on her stomach area at a surgery center in Tucson. Over 700ml of fat was liposuctioned from each side of her back, and approximately 350ml was liposuctioned from each flank in the abdomen. The liposuction acts as an important adjunct to the tummy tuck because it allowed us to better contour her flanks and abdomen, and helped with removing additional unwanted fat. Her surgery was over 4 months ago, her post-op journey has been great, and she is very happy with her results.
