Meet Dr. Pokhrel
Dr. Camela Pokhrel is a fellowship-trained hand surgeon who moved to Tucson, AZ to join her brother, Arun Rao, M.D., at Rao Plastic & Hand Surgery. She provides compassionate, top-level care for patients at both our El Dorado Place and Anklam Road offices.
Dr. Pokhrel is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American College of Surgeons, Kleinert Society, and Association of Women Surgeons. She has privileges at St. Mary's Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, Northwest Medical Center, Tucson Medical Center, and Surgery Center Tucson.

Dr. Pokhrel was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She attended Northwestern University, where she played for the golf team. Dr. Pokhrel then received her medical degree from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.
Dr. Pokhrel completed her general surgical residency training at the University of Illinois Chicago Metropolitan Group Hospitals, where she received the William A. Tito, M.D., FACS Highest Senior ABSITE Score Award. She is board certified in general surgery. She continued her training in hand and microsurgery at the prestigious University of Louisville/Christine M. Kleinert Institute.
In Her Spare Time
Dr. Pokhrel enjoys living in Tucson and providing hand and wrist care to the residents of southern Arizona. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband. Her hobbies include golf, guitar, bass, and photography.
